Bringing literature to life through performance is our passion, and we want to ignite that passion in you, too!

TCDG Interp Class of 2018

We guarantee to help your students in the process of:

• discovering what makes a winning piece
• understanding the tools for literary analysis
• exploring word color and imagery
• analyzing elements of the text
• learning the art of cutting literary works
• determining focus and visual space
• preparing the performance manuscript)
• writing effective introductions and transitions
• handling the manuscript in performance
• experimenting with rehearsal techniques
• practicing vocal variety and nonverbal expression
• selecting performance styles
• facing the fear of performing
• expanding meaning through literary criticism

Every student in the Poetry and Prose institute will go home with a practiced piece ready for tournament competition. Our state champion coaches will insure the piece you have prepared will meet the UIL category requirements. Students will participate in a performance show case on Friday with written critiques from experts in the field. Students may choose Poetry and Prose as their “major” or “minor” field of study.
